The current global circumstance for humankind is quite grave. This is widely recognized by every adult who has not succumbed to the wishful thinking of the fossil fuel lobbies around the world. These lobbies have captured all industries and effectively purchased all elected government officials by providing them with the mythical ideology of perpetual growth on our finite planet.
While the notion of unrestrained expansion in a finite ecosystem is patently absurd to any school-child, the mindset of growth economics and fundamental affirmation of belief in “growthism” has become the functional equivalent of a universal secular religion transcending all continents, cultures, languages and prior religious traditions. The near-universal acceptance and the militant expansion of growthism has led humankind to the brink of collective suicide. Consider, for example, the news recently broadcast to the entire English-speaking world by the BBC — “…the Radio Station to the World”
The UN’s International Panel on Climate Change says the world is on the brink of irrevocable damage, with global warming above 1.5 degrees Celsius now certain without drastic action. Also in the programme; a senior US figure involved in the invasion of Iraq expresses regret for his government’s poor planning. And an iconic Indian cola brand attempts a comeback.
