United Nations Association of the USA Oct 16, 2017
The United Nations’ World Food Programme is on the front lines combating the world’s food crises and feeding 80 million people in around 80 countries every year. David Beasley, former South Carolina Governor and current Executive Director of the World Food Programme, has a special message and call to action for Americans and UNA-USA members on World Food Day 2017.
Sadly, we are witnessing the worst humanitarian crisis since World War II: 20 million people across four countries face starvation and the risk of famine if we do not act now.
We must all take action to end global hunger. Please send a message to your Members of Congress urging them to fully fund the United Nations and its vital initiatives like the World Food Programme at unausa.org/USAforUN.
The World Food Programme cannot continue its vital work without necessary funding. Donate to World Food Program USA at wfpusa.org/give.
