L/S Accra airport building. Various shots Commonwealth Minister Duncan Sandys disembarking from plane, he is met by press and Ghanaian Foreign Minister. Sandys is in Ghana to check it is safe enough for Queen to visit. L/S of large arch with date 1957 on (the Freedom Arch). Sandys and an official walk under it. C/U two Ghanaian workmen. Various shots Sandys and President Nkrumah inspecting bomb damaged statue. Various shots Sandys and Nkrumah walking through crowd lined streets. Various shots Queen and Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Philip) walking across tarmac to plane. A small Ghanaian girl, Pearl Acquaye, presents Queen with bouquet. Queen then talks to Ghanaian law student, Ekow Daniels. Duke shakes Ekow’s hand. Queen shakes hands with various government ministers, including Prime Minister Harold Macmillan and Sandys. She then says goodbye to Earl of Scarborough and Lord Chamberlain. Queen and Duke board plane. Good shots of Macmillan and other ministers waving. End title advertising forthcoming Pathe stories about Royal Tour in Technicolor.
