The “Alliance for the Green Revolution in Africa” (AGRA) has promoted petro-dependent agriculture in Africa though the use of high-response varieties of seeds and and the distribution of government-subsidized artificial fertilizers . It is failing to achieve the goals it set for itself and announced to the world, and in the process degrading the sustainable productivity of African agricultural systems
