HOSPITALS HITTING CAPACITY AS COVID-19 SURGE ACROSS U.S.: Officials from the World Health Organization hold a briefing on the latest developments of the global coronavirus outbreak. Yesterday the United States reported almost 60,000 new coronavirus cases in a single day, marking its sixth single-day record in the past 10 days. The number of daily deaths from COVID-19 has also started to rise, as over 800 Americans have died in the past three days— a 60% increase over the same three-day span last week. With this surge in cases and deaths, hospitals across the country are worried about hitting capacity and have begun turning patients away and cancelling elective surgeries to keep some beds available. In Florida, where Pres. Trump is traveling today, over 40 intensive care units across 21 counties have hit capacity and do not have any available beds.
