In US news and current events today, the legendary Reverend Al Sharpton spoke at a memorial service in Minneapolis for George Floyd, the Black man who was killed by police, sparking a wave of George Floyd protests and Black Lives Matter protests across the globe. Al Sharpton had harsh words for President Donald Trump, who has been criticized for violently removing peaceful protesters in order to snap a photo holding a bible. The battle against police brutality has become a fight for the soul of the nation, as President Trump attempted to call in the military on American soil, only to be rebuked by generals and military leaders. As a man of faith, Sharpton pleaded with Trump to open his bible, not just pose with it.
