Join our livestream panel with Ian Haney Lopez, an academic at the forefront of research into a new approach to radical politics. He argues that in order to order to build a mass movement we must recognize that racism is the main weapon in the class war the rich are winning. Movements can succumb to the infighting around race and class that again and thus fail to build the mass movements we need. Or we can organize in ways that seek advances for our own groups. Roger Hallam (XR Cofounder) and Adam Elliott-Cooper (Sociologist at Greenwich university) are in conversation with Ian Haney López on his recent book, Merge Left, which offers solutions: an evidence-based approach to neutralizing the strategic racism of reactionary elites and building a multi-racial, class-conscious solidarity that speaks persuasively to a large majority of voters.
