Typhoon Lekima wreaks havoc in east China

Super typhoon Lekima has wreaked havoc in east China’s Zhejiang Province and made a second landfall in east China’s Shandong Province on late Sunday, bringing strong winds and heavy downpours.

As of 08:00 Sunday, the typhoon has affected more than 5.13 million people, of whom 1.22 million were relocated and 6,000 need daily necessities, the Ministry of Emergency Management said.

The typhoon also destroyed about 3,000 houses, damaged another 30,000, and destroyed nearly 1.58 million hectares of crops. (emphasis added)
