Estimated 45 million people will face food shortages in Africa this year

The UN is expected to launch its world hunger report, titled the 2019 State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World report. The report provides the latest estimates of the number and proportion of hungry people globally. In Africa, an estimated 45 million people in 14 countries will face severe food shortages this year mainly due to below average rainfall. CGTN’s Robert Nagila has more.
