Obstacles posed by the climate crisis are fueling dire economic and agricultural conditions in Central American countries, incentivizing a new wave of climate refugees to migrate to the United States. “Those are the opening salvos in what is going to be a century of shrinkage,” says environmentalist Bill McKibben.
