Boston National Historical Park – Old Ironsides

Much of Boston’s history is intimately related to its position as a military port since the days of its first settlement through all the wars it has engaged in since.  Its sea-level military installations are all vulnerable to a changing sea-level which has been unleashed as a result of global changes in climate.

As such, this picture provides a link to one of the potentially vulnerable locations where Boston will begin to experience the impact of climate change in the coming months and years.  This is one of the topics of the Beacon Hill Seminar (BHS) Spring program, focusing on Boston’s “Climate Vulnerability.”  See:
