Excitement builds hours before COP23 gets underway in Bonn. UN Climate Change Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa joins a group of e-cyclists from leader in renewable energies, Iberdrola, on the final stretch of their tour from Paris to Bonn. A ceremonial key to the COP premises is handed over to the UN from the German government, citizens of Bonn prepare for some 25,000 visitors from all over the world, and Fijian performers rehearse for the opening ceremony. After almost one year of preparations, everyone is excited it’s kick-off time.
