IFPRI’s 2017 Global Food Policy Report provides analysis of major global and country-level food policy developments across the developing world. With rapid urbanization dramatically shifting demographics in recent years, this year’s report focuses on how urbanization is changing food systems, nutrition, and development. The report finds that growing cities provide opportunities to boost farmers’ incomes and give urban poor more diverse and nutrition food supplies, if the two areas are effectively connected through strong value chains.
