President Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris global climate agreement has triggered the cascading collapse of US influence around the world.  The United States was marginalized and completely isolated at the meeting of the G20 countries in Hamburg, Germany in July where the split on climate change policy was 19 to 1 on the question of future support for the implementation of the 2015 Paris global climate accord.  China and Germany came forward as leaders and strong supporters of the global coalition in support of the Paris accord, while The New York Times reported America was effectively totally isolated because of President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the accord.
