Germany’s Merkel stresses EU loss of US and UK as reliable allies

For the second time in two days, German Chancellor Angela Merkel reiterated how Europe can no longer rely on its traditional allies – the US and the UK.

The chancellor has been unusually candid about her views since G7 and NATO summits were held last week – where US President Donald Trump ruffled many feathers of his European allies over a range of issues.
