In a panel discussion on “crisis of capital and the rise on the right”, Teesta Setalvad talked about the challenges faced by journalists post globalisation. Neoliberalism and globalisation can take one on the consumerist path and delink from the base of the profession or ideology. This was done in name of better pays and independence. Teesta also talked about the retrenchment of journalists recently by newspapers. She says that the rise of capital and Hindutva has gone hand-in hand with the media today.
