GreshamCollege

Published on Dec 22, 2016

Human-induced climate change has been identified by scientists and politicians as the greatest threat encountered by humanity. http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and…

Deserts, oceans, forests, icecaps, shorelines and reefs all seem threatened, with catastrophic consequences for human life. The lecture will investigate the latest evidence about what is happening to the global climate, speculate on the environment that our children could face in 2100, and discuss some strategies that might be used to make a difference.

The transcript and downloadable versions of the lecture are available from the Gresham College website: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and…

Gresham College has been giving free public lectures since 1597. This tradition continues today with all of our five or so public lectures a week being made available for free download from our website. There are currently over 1,900 lectures free to access or download from the website.

Global Capitalism, Monthly Economic Update:

with Richard D. Wolff
Co-sponsored by Democracy at Work,
Left Forum & Judson Memorial Church

Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 7:30pm
Judson Memorial Church Assembly Hall
239 Thompson Street at Washington Square

These programs begin with 30 minutes of short updates on important economic events of the last month, then Wolff analyzes several major economic issues. This month, these issues will include:

1. Worker coops and jobs;
2. Worker coops and taxes;
3. Worker coops/capitalist firms: a two-sector system .

Our goal: To develop all participants’ understanding and ability to explain current economic events and trends to others. We open the floor to questions and comments when time permits.
