Falling wheat harvest a ‘catastrophe’ for French farmers

Farmers groups in France have called this year’s wheat harvest – the worst since 1986 – a “catastrophe”.

Wheat is worth billions of dollars to the French economy and France had been Europe’s top wheat producer, but will now lose that spot.

US health officials caution Zika spread beyond Florida

Health officials in the US are warning that the Zika virus may spread beyond the state of Florida.

The first US cases were reported in a Miami neighbourhood and Zika is now active in Miami Beach, a major tourist hub.
