Katharine Hayhoe: “..Much of This is Intended to Intimidate.”

I had the privilege to interview Dr. Hayhoe this past weekend at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, where the Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise
was conducting a workshop and Town Hall meeting entitled “Cures for Climate Confusion”.

I wish to thank the organizers, Andy Hoffman of the Erb Institute, and the Union of Concerned Scientists, for – inexplicably – not throwing me out when I arrived uninvited to the gathering.

Seymour Hersh Weighs In on Sanders vs. Clinton: “Something Amazing Is Happening in This Country”

Democracy Now!

Published on Apr 25, 2016

http://democracynow.org – Legendary investigative journalist Seymour Hersh weighs in on the foreign policy positions of the 2016 presidential candidates. “For me to say who I’m going to vote for and all that … I’m not a political leader, that’s not what I’m into,” Hersh says. “But I will say this: Something that’s amazing is happening in this country, and for the first time, I do think it’s going to be very hard for a lot of the people who support Sanders to support Hillary Clinton. … There’s a whole group of young people in America, across the board, all races, etc., etc., who have just had it with our system.”

Robert McChesney: Mainstream Corporate Media Covering 2016 Election Through Eyes of Clinton Campaign

Democracy Now!

Published on May 19, 2016

http://democracynow.org – “This has been an all-time low by mainstream corporate media,” says media scholar Robert McChesney, who joins us to discuss how the media is covering the race for the White House. “What we’ve seen is the Sanders campaign has been largely neglected … And the coverage and the framing of it has been largely through the eyes of the establishment for the Hillary Clinton campaign.” McChesney says reporters also failed simply to ask questions about what exactly happened over the weekend when Sanders supporters erupted in protest at the Nevada state Democratic convention after they said rules were abruptly changed and 64 Sanders supporters were wrongly denied delegate status. This “brought to the front just how little actual journalism goes on,” he notes, “how much of it is simply regurgitating what people in power tell them.” McChesney is a professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the Department of Communication and is co-founder of Free Press, a national media reform organization.

Brutal Heatwave Hits 122 F in India

Paul Beckwith

Published on May 20, 2016

Vast regions of NW India and E Pakistan have been savaged by temperatures over 50 C (or 122 F) for an extended period of time. India has been experiencing a brutal drought for the last 3 years which has forced many farmers into the streets of the main cities, where they are exposed to this heatwave. Casualties will be horrendous.

Our emissions have changed the chemistry of the atmosphere and oceans. Global temperatures are spiking ever faster upwards.

We have a global emergency. Please consider supporting my videos and website with a donation at paulbeckwith.net; I connect all the climate-system-dots…
