Drug companies are in the news for gigantic price increases on their drugs lately. Mind-blowing increases that can look completely arbitrary. But that’s not the only big story on the pharmaceutical industry. Muckraking journalist Steven Brill is going after the iconic brand Johnson & Johnson for its handling of a drug that made it billions but was not a win for a bunch of patients. The company is paying billions in fines and settlements, but making more. Billions more. Brill is with us. Susan Lindauer has written a self-published book about her experience, Extreme Prejudice: The Terrifying Story of the Patriot Act and the Cover-Ups of 9/11 and Iraq.
As a U.S. Intelligence Asset, Susan Lindauer covered anti-terrorism at the Iraqi Embassy in New York from 1996 up to the invasion. Independent sources have confirmed that she gave advance warning about the 9/11 attack. She also started talks for the Lockerbie Trial with Libyan diplomats. Shortly after requesting to testify before Congress about successful elements of Pre-War Intelligence, Lindauer became one of the first non-Arab Americans arrested on the Patriot Act as an “Iraqi Agent.” She was accused of warning her second cousin, White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card and Secretary of State Colin Powell that War with Iraq would have catastrophic consequences. Gratis of the Patriot Act, her indictment was loaded with “secret charges” and “secret evidence.” She was subjected to one year in prison on Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas without a trial or hearing, and threatened with indefinite detention and forcible drugging to shut her up. After five years of indictment without a conviction or guilty plea, the Justice Department dismissed all charges five days before President Obama’s inauguration.

On the tenth anniversary of the Attacks of September 11th, 2001, expert witnesses gathered at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada to provide evidence-based research that called into question the official story of 9/11. This was known as The Toronto Hearings on 9/11.
Over a period of four days, these experts in Structural Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, and History gave researched and professional testimony to an international panel of distinguished judges. The panel of judges, in conjunction with the steering committee would go on to publish their final analysis of the evidence provided, which called for a new investigation into the Attacks of September 11th, 2001.

Speaking at the United Nations Gemneral Assembly, Pope Francis spoke on protectingthe environment, the importance of the Iranian nuclear treaty and the effects of the violence across the Middle East. (Sept. 25)
Pope Francis continued his U.S. visit Friday with an address to world leaders at United Nations headquarters in New York. There, he called for international action and cooperation to combat climate change and poverty and to help the disadvantaged. VOA’S Jeff Custer reports from Washington.

Pope Francis’ visit to the United States came with a clear message for U.S. Congress, and it preached resistance to their warmonger mentality, hatred, bigotry, and unwillingness to help those in need. He also briefly talked about climate change, and how action on it could make a huge difference. The Pope made it clear that the ideas he promotes aren’t liberal agendas, but human and moral responsibilities.
