TV AD: They’re Back — The Iraq War Hawks Target Iran

AmericansUnited

Published on Aug 20, 2015

With a vote expected in Congress in the coming weeks over the comprehensive, long-term nuclear deal reached between Iran and the P5+1 nations, led by the U.S., that will verifiably prevent Iran from acquiring the nuclear bomb, Americans United for Change has launched a major TV ad campaign warning that the same war hawks who misled the nation into an unnecessary, costly, and bloody war with Iraq and now beat the war drums against Iran are the last people to be trusted when it comes to America’s national security. See backup documentation below for “They’re Back”, a half a million dollar effort airing over the next two weeks in Los Angeles, CA; Miami and West Palm Beach, FL; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; New York City; Providence, RI, as well as on local broadcast stations in Washington, DC.

Shaping Water and Soil at Inspiration Farm

peakmoment

Published on Jun 14, 2014

“If you grow good soil, everything else falls into place. You grow good plants, you grow good animals, you grow good people.” Permaculturist Brian Kerkvliet shows how he gently shapes soil to form ponds which overflow into connected swales (ditches on contour). They slow and retain water while distributing nutrients through the whole landscape. On the mound of soft earth dug out from one swale, he planted mostly edible cover crops, berry bushes and 25 fruit tree species in only three days. “We don’t till [the soil],” he says. “The worms till. The moles till. We find the niche where each element works the best.” Episode 267. [inspirationfarm.com]. See photos during spring at http://peakmoment.tv/journal/a-new-se…

Methane Emissions Draw EPA Limits | On Point

In this June 12, 2014 file photo, oil pumps and natural gas burn off in Watford City, N.D. Methane emissions will likely be the next big environmental issue to face North Dakota’s booming oil industry according to a top official at the state’s Department of Health. (AP)

Methane Emissions Draw EPA Limits

The EPA says methane may be more dangerous than CO2 for global warming. Wants to clean up drilling wellheads. There’s a fight on.

Cows make a lot of it, when they make cow pies. The oil and gas industry makes more. Methane It’s the gas that escapes and bleeds off of oil and gas drilling sites, wellheads, processing plants, distribution lines. It’s a super global-warmer when it hits the atmosphere – 25 times more potent there than the big global culprit carbon dioxide, CO2. Now the Obama administration, through the EPA, wants to start to rein in that methane leakage from oil and gas production. It’s a big deal at the drilling site, and for the climate. This hour On Point: putting the plug in methane.

Over 5,000 cross from Macedonia to Serbia

CCTV Africa

Published on Aug 24, 2015

There are two routes that migrants follow to enter the EU. The land route begins when migrants cross from Turkey into Greece and move northward into Macedonia and eventually to the EU border in Hungary and onwards to the more prosperous EU nations with more economic opportunities, like Germany, the UK, and France. The sea route frequently begins in Libya and an attempt to cross the Mediterranean Sea to Italy. Those who make it alive then travel north. This is known as the deadliest migrant route, with frequent deadly accidents. CCTV’s Kate Parkinson has been meeting some of the people who are taking the long and difficult journey to Europe overland.
