Conversations w/Great Minds – Prof. Steve Keen – What Capitalism Must Have to Survive

The Big Picture RT

Published on Mar 18, 2013

Professor Steve Keen, Debunking Economics, joins Thom Hartmann. If you believe Republican politicans like Paul Ryan and John Boehner – the United States has a crushing sovereign debt problem. But is private debt – the mortgage and credit card debt held by everyday Americans – the real drag on the economy? Steve is the Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of Western Sydney in Sydney – Australia – and a world reknowned authority on a wide range of macroeconomic issues – including debt – financial instability – and monetary theory. A frequent critic of mainstream economists – he predicted the financial collapse of 2008 and received the Revere Award from the Real World Economics Reviews for his cutting analysis of contemporary economic trends. Professor Keen’s book “Debunking Economics – Revised and Expanded Edition: The Naked Emperor Dethroned?” is a must-read for anyone interested in learning about how we got into our current financial mess.
