Fracking leads to increase in STDs – report

Concerns about hydraulic fracturing are turning from purely environmental to social as well. Communities heavily involved in the fracking process reportedly experience an increase in crime, drug use and sexually transmitted diseases. “Boom towns” are created due to the influx of investment and workers, with the communities often being unprepared. Discussing the social impacts of fracking with RT’s Ameera David is Karl Grossman, an environmental activist and journalism professor at the State University of New York.
