Laboratory Lunch: Moms Say NO to GMOs

The Institute for Responsible Technology

Published on Dec 20, 2013

Learn more about our ambitious project here: http://fundanything.com/en/campaigns/… and DONATE TODAY!

We, at the Institute for Responsible Technology (IRT), are raising $125,000 to create a series of mini-documentaries that will take an intimate look into the world behind the veil of mothers who have healed their children from serious illness and behavioral conditions, after removing genetically modified organisms or “GMOs” from their diets.

By giving today, your investment goes directly towards the fight for the health of future generations. The end is in sight! Together we can cause a ripple effect through the power of story and rewrite the ending to this GMO saga!

Published on Dec 9, 2013

Watch the Soweto Gospel Choir sing an incredible tribute to Madiba in our Parkview store.

On Saturday, 7 December 2013, Woolworths had planned a performance at our Parkview store in Pretoria to support our Operation Smile Christmas campaign. The Soweto Gospel Choir’s planned a rendition of James Brown’s I Feel Good. But, after Madiba’s passing the choir decided on a tribute instead. They chose Johnny Clegg’s Asimbonanga.

Returning Fire: Hacking War Game Culture

Uploaded on Apr 12, 2011

Sales of war-themed video games now far outpace even the biggest Hollywood blockbusters. The best of these games are as sophisticated as they are addictive, offering access to many of the same cutting-edge tools and techniques the American military itself uses to train combat troops. But even as war games deliver higher levels of intensity and realism, some wonder whether they may be paradoxically distancing players from the actual consequences of war in the real world. This film profiles three remarkable individuals who pioneered new forms of activism to bring us face-to-face with just this possibility. As they hack their way into the world of war games, they force all of us — gamers and non-gamers alike — to stop and think about the often-unthinking nature of war in the 21st Century.

Politics and Hollywood’s images are linked. They reinforce one another. Policy enforces mythical images; mythical images help enforce policy.
