Uploaded on Jan 19, 2011

Tim DeChristopher invites you to join hundreds in Salt Lake City on February 28th to sing protest songs outside the Federal Courthouse. Tim is the activist now famous for his role as Bidder 70. During the final days of the Bush administration, Tim walked into a Utah Bureau of Land Management oil & gas auction and bid on $1.8 million worth of wilderness parcels. Once it was discovered that Tim was not from the oil & gas industry, he before was hauled out and arrested for making false statements to the government. Tim now faces up to 10 years in prison and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.

Tim’s creative and peaceful direct action led the BLM into a state of indecision regarding the land, before the Obama administration was able to take the land off the auction block completely.

Make your voice heard in Salt Lake City on February 28th. Please visit http://www.peacefuluprising.org fro details on transportation, housing and solidarity actions all over the country.
