Too Little, Too Late? Part 1 of 8 – Introduction

WildscreenFestival

Uploaded on Nov 11, 2008

The 2008 Wildscreen Festival, as ever, had a great line up of speakers, sessions, film screenings, workshops and networking events. Highlights included the gargantuan ‘Too Little, Too Late?’ event, which brought together Sir David Attenborough, Dr James Lovelock, John Hanke (Google Earth), and HRH Prince Carlos – an environmentalist from The Netherlands and grandson of WWF founder, Prince Bernhard. These four great minds discussed at length the most pressing environmental issues that the world now faces.

James Lovelock, the groundbreaking originator of Gaia theory, in conversation with science editor Tim Radford warns that we are about to reach a tipping point, beyond which our planet will not recover sufficiently to sustain human life comfortably.

James Lovelock is best known as the father of Gaia theory; the idea that all parts of our planet form a complex interacting system, like a single organism. His new book depicts Gaia in trouble. In this interview Lovelock sounds a final warning for planet earth and enthuses about his upcoming space trip.

Scorched Earth: Beyond The Tipping Point

Uploaded on Feb 9, 2008

This is the beginning of a 12 minute sketch of the issues related to the truth about global warming and climate change. The scientific evidence appears(overwhelmingly) to indicate that earth (Gaia) may be inexorably approaching or perhaps PAST the tipping point and on it’s way to a new climate regime not seen on earth for 55 million years. It will be a climate that is, on average, much hotter, more chaotic and violent than what we have experienced for the entire tenure of our species.

This is the 2nd segment of a 12 minute overview of the shocking truth about global warming and climate change. This segment deals with the main positive feedback loops in action in Gaia’s complex ecosystems: melting of the ice caps, deforestation, melting of permafrost regions of the planet and the destruction of Ehux: a vital marine algae that is a key component of the earth’s climate regulation system.

SAVE HUMANITY- CLIMATE CHANGE & GLOBAL WARMING

ONEWORLDCOMMEFILMS1

Uploaded on Sep 18, 2009

this is an excerpt from the six part series about climate change & global warming titled World On Edge” by Producer Director, Ike Karnick, One World Communications/Earth Film . The production takes human development from its inception to the present. As result of the economic forces put in play by the G20 and the world wide stock market executives, run by the Wall Street , the markets in collusion world with the global policy makers, les by the United States and United Kingdom have inextricably tied your survival to global stock market patterns while the human race is facing extinction.

The very economic survival of your family has been tied to your 401K and the global stock markets. this has put humanity in the fast track to extinction based in human greed.

We have less than seven years to make radical changes and reduce greenhouse gas loading in the atmosphere. As I write this the tundra and oceans are beginning to release Methane. This feedback loop has a twenty five times greenhouse factor compared to CO2.

The environment is collapsing and our life with it, while the major concerns of policy-makers is continued growth in the economy and so-called “Free market System” .

Unless we stop our current production surrounding consumer products and the ever growing release of carbon the human race will go extinct. A new type of conserver economy must be designed and built now. The major world’s economists, Krugman, Stiglitz, and so many others at the World Bank and the United Nations know this to be so.

Yet the “World Bank” just commissioned the greatest coal fired point source of the CO2 emission on the planet. The people of this world have been duped by the toys they have been given to play with. If we do not change we die.
